  1. If you want the perfect #frenchtoast instead of soggy thin sliced bread, following these 4 tips will give you great results every time!
    1. Use the correct bread: French toast works best with thick sliced bread (around 1 inch thick). The bread needs to be able to hold up to the soaking without falling apart and becoming a mushy mess! My favorite type of bread to use is brioche and challah. If your bread is not dry enough or too soft, you can dry them by placing them in a 250-degree Fahrenheit oven for 10 minutes before dipping them.
    2. For a perfect golden-brown color on your French toast, control your heat! Since butter has a low burning point, you want to turn your heat to medium low or medium to ensure that the bread is getting toasted properly and does not develop an unattractive black char and a smoky mess! Also, the butter should be melted completely before adding the soaked bread. The goal is to have a crisp golden-brown exterior and a tender (but not soggy!) center.
    3. Make sure to mix the egg custard thoroughly! You want to make sure that the sugar and spices have dissolved in the liquid and avoid having white pieces of egg show up on your golden-brown slices.
    4. Make sure to serve with warm honey or syrup and tart berries! They are the best combination!
