2 tbsp oil
1 cup sooji/semolina
1.5 cups water + water as needed for steaming the sooji balls
pinch of heeng/asafoetida
1/4 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp rai/mustard seeds
1/4 tsp jeera/cumin seeds
1/2 tsp salt in the sooji balls and 1/2 tsp salt in tadka/tempering
juice of 1 lemon
10-12 curry patta/leaves, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger paste/finely chopped
1/2 tsp green chili, finely chopped
1/4 tsp red chili flakes

Note: If preparing for children skip the green chili and red chili flakes. Add chopped hara dhania/cilantro instead
