    Wow, I didn't realize that it was that simple to make homemade bagels! Thanks for sharing! I also wanted to recommend Bernstein Bagels in St. Johns, North Portland off of N. Lombard St.. They make handmade, fresh bagels daily and have great vegan options too 🙂 I believe the owner is from the East Coast too and their bagels are so good!

    I work at a vegan brunch spot where I make bagels every morning, and if you want that crust, you MUST add barley malt syrup and baking soda to the boiling water before you add your bagels in. Also using a standing mixer helps! I wish I had one at home, but, it keeps you from getting tuckered out kneading all that dough! On a side note, that cultured cashew cream is calling my name 😍
